Working Groups

SSMCP Working Groups

The SSMCP staffs several Working Groups comprised of regional stakeholders and subject matter experts tasked to (1) Assess the continuing relevance of the 2010 GCP recommendations and (2) Make recommendations to the Steering Committee for ongoing implementation and coordination. Current groups include Healthcare, Social Services, Education, Transportation and Business & Economic Development.

United Way of Pierce County President & CEO, Dona Ponepinto, spoke at the 14 may 2019 SSMCP Elected Officials Council about ways the SSMCP Social Services working group has helped to uplift the military affiliated community through Connect Kits and continued focus on addressing childcare in the South Puget Sound.

SSMCP Working Groups

The South Sound Military & Communities Partnership continues the work of the Growth Coordination Plan through Working Groups comprised of regional stakeholders and subject matter experts to (1) Assess the continuing  relevance of the 2010 GCP recommendations and (2) Make recommendations to the Steering Committee for ongoing implementation and coordination. The groups present updated strategies and priorities to the SSMCP Steering Committee.
